English class 1

Today we had our first english class in group at my local job.

Some words are very important for us:

WORKERS – TRADE UNION – UNIONIST – FEDERATION – CONFEDERATION

ATTENTION!!
“Central” = it's not a word used in English language. USE CONFEDERATION or FEDERATION

WHO ARE WE?
I’m a unionist. I represent my colleagues that work in banks or something like that.

BANK WORKERS TRADE UNION = it’s the house of workers of bank – SEEB SP

Our teacher is not a unionist, but he is unionized at Sinpro SP

(TEACHER TOLD ME: "I'm not unionised because i own a microcompany now")

PROGRESSIVE PERSON, PEOPLE = people like us

Dialogue:
My partner and I had a conversation about three reasons for Brazilian people TO vote in Dilma Roussef. Why Dilma is bound (almost certainly) to be elected?

We talked about the reasons and concluded that:

- income distribution – to share the wealth of country is very important. We have to bring together other 20 millions (of) people that live with less than ¼ (a quarter) of minimum wage. ("wealth" like The wealth of nations – Adam Smith);

CORRECT WAY: 20 MILLION PEOPLE, 2 MILLION PEOPLE, 10 BILLION... ( é no singular)

BUT:

- the continuity of Lula’s government program;

-the important debate about the size of state, I mean, a state with more public employees and more (assistance) SOCIAL programs etc. The opposition way of (manager) MANAGEMENT believes in competency and bullshit like that…
